Uganda & Tanzania 2014

PHS had a successful mission in East Africa! Our first stop was Kampala, Uganda. We checked in on our program at Meeting Point Kampala and delivered new dental kits for the children. We provided the staff with an oral health lesson plan review as well as a tooth and brush model. We also met with a local dental supplier and distributor who PHS will partner with to sustain our program at Meeting Point. Our second stop was Moshi, Tanzania. PHS implemented a new program at TAFCOM Primary School. The children received a lesson on oral health in addition to their very own dental kit including a toothbrush, toothpaste and floss. We were thrilled to see our program in action as the children brushed at the school prior to a fluoride varnish treatment. We want to thank the staff at Meeting Point and TAFCOM for all their help and support. We also want to thank the Henry Schein Cares Foundation who donated supplies towards the mission.
